HEI renovated the Student Health Service Centers for the Dunwoody
Tapestry Public Charter School is an inclusive learning environment dedicated to students on the autistic spectrum. Tapestry contracted with HEI Construction to renovate a 1959 elementary school building to accommodate K-12 learning environment. The building’s original structural components were in good condition. However, 45,000 sf of existing asbestos flooring required abatement for installation of new carpet tile flooring, exterior steel casement windows required removal, asbestos caulking removed and interior classrooms and hallways painted and the existing fluorescent light fixtures were upgraded to more energy-efficient LED fixtures. All life safety systems were brought up to current code. The next summer, HEI renovated the library and administration areas for Tapestry.
